Who We Are.
We are Amber Thornton and Sam Hunter, a couple of 20 odds from the United Kingdom who have chosen to adopt the road of a part-time agenda and an unpredictable future, for now anyway. Fortunate enough to be in the position we're in and aware of the ever-growing complexities of our surrounding world, we've taken what some might call the easy path. It has also turned out to be a pretty sweet one so far.
Our shared obsession of rock climbing has been the predominant driving force for this ongoing adventure. Luckily this goes hand in hand with travelling to some amazing places, spots that are undamaged and unspoiled. It would be nice to earn a living from this passion, but as this has yet to emerge, we also do 'proper' work here and there - often in exchange for food and a bed.
Money aside, we want to share our adventures, meetings and thoughts with anyone who is interested and so we set up this site. Our previous online home, roadramble.tumblr.com, was an abstract sort of a blog which is continued here, but with the expansion of our photography (Photos) and the addition of some other ideas like Rambles, a collection of the less snappy musings we have, and the Sunday Send, that aims to bring light to the every day climber. This last concept was spawned from our observation of the publicity that is (deservedly) given to the professional climbers pushing the limits of the sport, but not necessarily to the many extraordinary people for whom climbing forms a dominant part of their life. We want to share the achievements and adventures of these people.
Anyway, we hope you enjoy wandering through this creation of ours; please comment profusely and get in touch if you want, we'd love some feedback.
